Carolinas PGA Wishes Telvin Walker Best of Luck

The Section has bittersweet news to share that Telvin Walker is leaving the Carolinas PGA to return home to Washington DC to be closer to his family.  Telvin will truly be missed and was an outstanding member of the Carolinas PGA Staff.

Telvin came to us in May 2018 as the Sunny Harris Hutchinson PGA Works Fellow after graduating near the top of his class at Livingstone College while excelling on their golf team.  After his fellowship was complete, he was promoted to Event Coordinator last August.  His last day with the Section will be Friday, June 26.

Please join us in wishing Telvin the best of luck on his journey home.  We know the future is bright and the best is yet to come for this talented young man!

Message from Telvin –

Dear all,

I would like to start by saying THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! Each one of you has contributed not only to my professional development but also to my life overall. I appreciate every one of you for your time, wisdom, and efforts in helping me grow.

To the CPGA Board: Thank you all for creating this opportunity. I have learned so much from each of you. You all are great leaders and you are steering the CPGA in the right direction towards making a positive impact on society!

To the CPGA Staff: I came to the Carolinas PGA Section office back in May 2018 as a Sunny Harris Hutchinson PGA WORKS Fellow ready to learn and take on the Carolinas. I was thrown into the ring of fire within the first couple of days and was off to my first event, haha. I say all of that to put into perspective how far I have come.

You guys are the real MVP for taking a chance on a kid from the inner city of DC and blessing me with this great opportunity. The Carolinas PGA will forever hold a special place in my heart! As I said before I will forever be in debt to you guys for everything that you have done for me. Continue to be the best Section across the country and continue to defy the odds.

To the CPGA Membership: You all rock! I will miss seeing you all at the many events that the CPGA host. I have been able to develop some great relationships with many of you and I hope to connect with even more. I am a firm believer that the Carolinas Section has not only the best facilities but also the best membership. It’s so many to name(over 2,000+ to be exact), but know that you all will be missed!

Once again, thank you all so much for having me! I have truly learned so much during my time here with the CPGA. I appreciate you all and I will be forever grateful to have had the opportunity to serve the CPGA and its membership. This isn’t goodbye, just a “see ya later”. I wish all of you the absolute best and just know that I will miss you all.

Thank you guys for everything!
