PGA REACH Carolinas Retired Professional of the Year

In celebration of Retired Professionals who have given back to the game in extraordinary ways, the Carolinas PGA REACH Foundation is proud to present the PGA REACH Carolinas Retired Professional of the Year Award. This award recognizes a Retired Professional’s contributions in supporting the three pillars of Youth, Military, and Diversity & Inclusion. They have maintained the Foundation’s mission of positively impacting lives through the game of golf through their dedication and hard work.

Ken Haigler is a Carolinas PGA REACH Founding Trustee. He has contributed a total of $26,000 towards the PGA REACH Carolinas Assistant and Retired Professional of the Year Awards. He believes recognizing the hard work of Carolinas PGA Assistants and Retired Members is crucial in growing the game, and giving back to the community is an important value for all PGA professionals.

Criteria to be used in the selection process for the 2023 PGA REACH Carolinas Retired Professional of the Year Award includes:

  • Active in supporting at least one of the three PGA REACH Carolinas Foundation Pillars – Youth, Military, or Diversity & Inclusion, through involvement in PGA REACH Carolinas Foundation programs. *Foundation programs include but are not limited to Drive, Chip & Putt, PGA Jr. League, PGA Family Golf, PGA HOPE, Harvick4HighSchoolGolf, Prokope Academy*
  • Must meet Member Class Eligibility for the Carolinas PGA Section.

2023 Recipients

Retired Professional of the Year: Tom Rader, PGA

Retired Professional of the Year Finalist: Roger Mack, PGA

Retired Professional of the Year Finalist: Brian Oliver, PGA

Member Eligibility:

LMA          Life Member Active
LMMA      Life Member Master Active

The term “LMA & LMMA” shall refer to members with 20 years of active classification and are retired.

LM             Life Member Retired
LMM         Life Member Master Retired

The term “LM & LMM” shall refer to members with 20 years of active classification and are retired.

 

RM             Retired Member

The term “RM” shall refer to members who are retired and have achieved a combined total of 65 years or more of age and years of active classification.

LMC           Life Member Century

The term “LMC” shall refer to members, who are fully retired, no longer active and have achieved a minimum age of 75 years and a minimum of 25 years of Active classification.
