Overall the
Atlantic Area is consistent with PGA staffing over the past 12
months. Gary Hobgood has taken the GM/Head Golf
Professional/Course Superintendent position at the Links at
Mulberry Hill in Edenton, NC. Please contact Michael Muller for any Career

PGA Junior League
The PGA
Junior League, hosted at Sea Scape Golf Links has just concluded
its third year with growing participation and excitement each
season. We started the Outer Banks program in 2016 with nine
participates and have grown to over 30 junior players in 2018. We
have players that had never played golf now playing on their
middle school golf teams. The program has introduced not only
juniors, but also their parents, grandparents, and friends to the
game.
Our club
has seen increases in individual lesson, golf camps and equipment
sales. Three families have joined the club and now play together
on weekends. The “swag bags” as we call them” are big hits with
the players offering quality apparel that they display with pride
long after the season ends. PGAjlg.com offers great information
for players and parents including tools to promote and recruit
players. PGA Junior League is a great way to grow your junior
program in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere that will provide
many benefits to your facility.
Drive Chip & Putt
Ironwood
Golf & Country Club in Greenville, NC hosted the Area X
(Atlantic) Drive Chip and Putt on June 19th. With the
help of club volunteers and the CPGA staff all participants
enjoyed a great day of qualifying. The qualifying was held on
East Carolina University practices facilities here every
participant had the opportunity to feel the experience of playing
on a university practice facility. Job well done by PGA
Professional John La Monica, his staff and Ironwood Golf &
Country Club.

Happy Valley Golf Club in Wilson, NC will close as soon as the
golf cart fleet is picked-up.
