Lexington, SC — The Carolinas PGA Section proudly hosted its fourth & final PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) Training Session of the year on Tuesday, November 19, at The Country Club of Lexington. The event was a great success, furthering PGA REACH Carolinas’ mission to support military veterans through the game of golf.

The training, led by PGA HOPE National Instructor Brian Oliver, PGA, featured both indoor and outdoor sessions designed to prepare PGA Members and Associates to better serve veterans with diverse physical and emotional challenges. Participants gained valuable skills in adaptive golf instruction, enhancing their ability to make the game more accessible for veterans.

Event Recap:
The day began with registration at 8:00 a.m., followed by an indoor training session in the clubhouse’s Fire Place Room. The morning program provided participants with foundational knowledge on working with veterans, focusing on how golf can help them overcome various obstacles.

After lunch, attendees transitioned to outdoor training, where they practiced hands-on adaptive techniques on the course. The session concluded at 3:30 p.m., with attendees leaving better equipped to make a positive impact in their communities.

Since its launch in 2015, this free program has made a meaningful impact on the lives of over 4,700 veterans and active-duty military members throughout the Carolinas. Currently, there are 26 active programs across North and South Carolina, with plans to further expand in 2025 to reach even more veterans in need.
