Learn More About First Tee - Central Carolina
First Tee – Central Carolina and Gillespie Golf Course have teamed up with Guilford County Schools to offer a first-of-its-kind “Club Golf” program this fall. Participating students will learn to play golf from trained coaches, make friendships with kids from other schools and learn valuable life skills throughout the season.
Participants will have access to professional golf skills coaching, life skills training, on-course play and more. The program is open to kids in 3rd through 8th grades. The 11 participating schools are feeder sites for Dudley and Smith high schools. Transportation will be provided from school to the course each day. Students come to Gillespie Golf Course two times each week for practices and matches. Weekly practices will focus on golf and life skill development and the season will conclude with a series of PGA Jr. League matches, a season ending celebration and awards.
This is the first program of its kind anywhere in the country. Over time, this program will build a pipeline of kids with advanced golf and life skills to Dudley and Smith, allowing them to compete with other local programs.
