FUQUAY-VARINA, NC – Being home has never been sweeter for the 13u Lonnie Poole Golf Club League, coached by Stephen Pietsch, PGA. They will be moving on from Thursday, July 18’s qualifier to the Section Championship after scoring an impressive -14 (30-30-31). In the 17u division, last year’s teams will repeat as representatives from the Oak Hollow GC qualifier. 17u Bentwinds CC League Team 1 coached by Evelyn Walters, PGA, and Fayetteville League Team 1 coached by Ryan Dailey, PGA, will compete for a trip to the Regional Championship with scores of -8 and -5 respectively. For Fayetteville Team League 1, it didn’t come without challenge from Bentwinds CC League Team 2. A tiebreaker was needed to determine who would advance.

HIGH POINT, NC – Oak Hollow Golf Course hosted the second of four local qualifiers for the PGA Jr. League Postseason on Monday, July 22, 2024. Eight (8) 13u teams competed for one opportunity to represent their programs in Fayetteville, NC. Tanglewood Park League coached by Daniel Byrd, PGA came out victorious with a score of 113 (35-37-41). 

Additionally, PGA REACH Carolinas launched a PGA Jr. League Recreational Division on Sunday, July 21, 2024 to coincide with Monday’s qualifier. This event aimed to celebrate new golfers who may not be prepared for a 9-hole tournament just yet. Any All-Star team was welcome to participate! This first-of-its-kind event in the Carolinas was a success as three programs joined in on the fun with a mini Drive, Chip & Putt, raffles, ice cream, and 4 holes of golf!

CONCORD, NC – For the third PGA Jr. League postseason event in seven days, seven (7) 13u teams and six (6) 17u teams converged in the Charlotte suburb at Rocky River Golf Club on Thursday, July 25, 2024, to earn a spot in August’s Section Championship. In the 13u division, Cleveland County League Team 1, shot even (35-36-37) on their way to victory. In the 17u division, Tanglewood Park League Team 1, coached by Daniel Byrd, PGA, will return to the Section Championship accompanied by Greensboro League Team 2, coached by Jonathan Dudley, PGA. with scores of 62 (31-31) and 67 (32-35), respectively.

COLUMBIA, SC – On Monday, July 29, 2024, eleven (11) teams competed at Columbia Country Club for the final 13u spot of the PGA Jr. League Section Championship. Out of the morning shotgun, Bluffton League Team 1 surged out to a lead of +7. In the afternoon session, Clemson League kicked into high gear to surpass the leading score and finish +5 (37-38-38). The team, coached by Ansley Bryson, were glued to the scoreboard as the final scores were coming in. They will compete with three opposing teams in August to secure a berth in the Regional Championship in September.

The PGA Junior League is renowned for its emphasis on teamwork, inclusivity, and fun. The format of the competition allows young golfers to participate in a team environment, fostering a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship that goes beyond individual achievements. The tournament will take place at Gates Four Golf & Country Club in Fayetteville, NC on Thursday, August 15, 2024. 

The PGA Junior League is renowned for its emphasis on teamwork, inclusivity, and fun. The format of the competition allows young golfers to participate in a team environment, fostering a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship that goes beyond individual achievements.
