Farewell, Gaby!
The Section has the bittersweet announcement that our PGA WORKS Fellow, Gaby Rivera-Garcia’s last day is this Friday, August 14. She has been a phenomenal asset to PGA REACH Carolinas and the entire CPGA team. We wish her the best as she continues in her career and pursues her PGA Membership!
See this note from Gaby:
Dear all,
I never knew where my life would take me in a world with endless opportunities and possibilities. But one thing is for certain. It only took that one phone call from Kurt offering me the PGA WORKS Fellowship in the Carolinas Section to know that my life would positively change. From all of the wonderful memories that I have made during my time here, it is difficult to choose just one. From being mesmerized by the talented juniors in Drive, Chip, and Putt events and PGA Jr. League, to experiencing the organized chaos that goes on during a major tournament, such as the Carolinas Open, to growing relationships and connections with my teammates whether it is competing for the best Christmas outfit to having a “whale” of a time on Jeff’s boat… So many memories in such little time.
Now my time has come to spread my wings and fly towards the horizon of new opportunities. Thanks to all of the knowledge and experiences that I have gained, I now have an opportunity to be an Assistant Golf Professional at a high-end facility where I will be able to make more connections with other professionals where I can reach my dream of becoming a Golf Instructor.
Words cannot describe how thankful I am to each and every person on this team and this Section that has allowed me to grow professionally and personally. Thank you to all of the Professionals that have dedicated their time to continuously growing the game of golf in the Carolinas. Thank you to the Carolinas PGA team for giving me the support that I needed as I was being thrown into the piranha pit and heading to my first golf event. Thank you to all of the members for the continuous support to the Carolinas PGA as I developed great relationships and connections with you all.
Skipping my college graduation to go to the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship and accepting the Sunny Harris Hutchinson PGA WORKS Fellowship and be a part of the Carolinas Section was the best decision that I have ever made and I would do it all again if I was allowed to. Although I will miss you all immensely, I hope to keep in touch with you all and that our paths will cross again in the future.
Thank you all so much!
