The Johnny Palmer Trophy is awarded to the Section Member who has the lowest stroke average in a given calendar year in the Players Championship, Carolinas Open, NC Open, SC Open, and Section Professional Championship. Associates are not eligible. To be eligible for this award, the Member must have a score for a minimum of ten (10) rounds in the events previously stated. If a Member has more than ten (10) rounds, the lowest ten (10) rounds recorded count.
The 2024 Johnny Palmer Trophy was earned by Zack Taylor, PGA. Taylor achieved an impressive scoring average of 68.8 during the 2025 season. His accomplishments include a T2 finish at the Players Championship and the CPGA Section Championship, and a T3 at the 61st North Carolina Open. Taylor also finished runner-up at the season-ending, Rolex CPGA Match Play Championship.
