Charlotte, NC – The third annual Total Packaging Company (TPC) Freedom Foundation Charity Pro-Am was a complete success raising a total of $37,000 for PGA REACH Carolinas and its PGA HOPE programing. Trump National Golf Club Charlotte provided the perfect venue for the fun-filled day of play where eleven teams competed in this year’s charity pro-am. However, this year’s pro-am had a new element given the time of year… Cinco de Mayo themed!

The beautiful weather was inviting for an exciting day of golf. Teams composed of four amateur players and one PGA Professional were welcomed with Chick-fil-a breakfast and tee gifts. Within the field of players, was one team made up of PGA HOPE veterans, including Carolinas PGA HOPE Ambassador and former US Army Cavalry Scout Colton Hensley.

In the end, the winning team was Total Packing Company founder, Brian Schneider (a), Mark Personias (a), Chris Newsome (a), and Frank Buyna (a), and PGA Professional Chris Byrd, PGA. The team came in at an impressive score of -22 under!

A reception was held post-tournament where Guenn Schneider of Total Packaging Company and Carolinas PGA CEO/Executive Director Jeff Abbot shared the powerful impact PGA HOPE has on the lives of countless United States Veterans across the country. In North and South Carolina, the 28 HOPE Chapters plan to serve over 1,500 Veterans this season.

“Many programs have the ability to enhance lives,” explains Jeff Abbot, “But PGA HOPE is a program that can actually save lives.”

Thank you to all of the Hole Sponsors – Midsouth Extrusion, Summit Plastics, Profile Films, and Insurance Solutions, Breakfast Sponsor – Pratt Industries, Veteran Team Sponsors – Spencer Pettus, Farris Convoyers, Bowen Machine, Kloekner Metals, and Freightliner. And finally, a huge thank you to General Manager – Cory Head, PGA, Director of Golf – Trevor Potts, PGA, Head Golf Professional – Stephen Oberstadt, PGA and Clubhouse Manager – Elena Kon from Trump National Golf Club Charlotte for making this event run smoothly.
