Pinehurst, NC – Junior golfers from across the Carolinas brought their best to the 2025 PGA Jr. League Section Championship at Fox Fire Golf Club in Pinehurst, NC. These juniors competed in match play for a chance to advance to the Regional Championship in Georgia. Despite an hour-and-a-half rain and lightning delay, the athletes showed resilience and carried on play throughout the day. The championship featured both 13u and 17u divisions, with teams advancing through semifinals and finals in the signature two-person scramble, head-to-head match play format. The Champions and Runners-Up from each division now move on to the PGA Jr. League Regional Championship, September 19–21 at Southern Landings Golf Club in Warner Robins, GA, where they will compete for a coveted spot in the National Championship later this fall.

13u Division

 Semifinals

  • Cleveland County League Team 1 (Head Coach: John Wease, PGA | Assistant Coach: Kevin Britt, PGA) defeated Country Club of Lexington League (Head Coach: Dustin Perry, PGA | Assistant Coach: Tony Barber, PGA) with a score of 7.5 – 4.5.
  • 12 Oaks/MacGregor League (Head Coach: Bo Bolick, PGA | Assistant Coach: Andrew Kiger, PGA) defeated Forsyth CC/Maple Chase Golf & CC League (Head Coach: Webb Wishon | Assistant Coach: James Webb) with a score of 8.5 – 3.5.

Championship (Seeding Match)

  • 12 Oaks/MacGregor League defeated Cleveland County League Team 1 10 – 2.
    • Coaches: Bo Bolick, PGA & Andrew Kiger, PGA (12 Oaks/MacGregor)
    • Coaches: John Wease, PGA & Kevin Britt, PGA (Cleveland County)

Both teams advance to the Regional Championship in Georgia, with 12 Oaks/MacGregor earning the higher seed.

17u Division

  • Bentwinds League Team 1 (Head Coach: Evelyn Walters, PGA | Assistant Coach: Tyler Shope) defeated Tanglewood Park League Team 2 (Head Coach: Daniel Byrd, PGA) with a score of 9.5 – 2.5.
  • Tanglewood Park League Team 1 (Head Coach: Daniel Byrd, PGA) defeated Bentwinds League Team 2 (Head Coach: Evelyn Walters, PGA | Assistant Coach: Tyler Shope) with a score of 11 – 1.

Championship

  • Bentwinds League Team 1 narrowly defeated Tanglewood Park League Team 1 6.5 – 5.5 to capture the Section Championship title.
