Pinehurst, NC – The second annual Birdie Blitz took place on November 3, 2025, at Pinewild Country Club of Pinehurst, where participants recorded 594 birdies and raised $71,298 for PGA HOPE Carolinas.

The event supports PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), which provides free golf programming for military veterans across the Carolinas.

Event Format

The Birdie Blitz features a par-3 course using Pinewild’s Azalea and Magnolia courses. Two-player teams competed in a captain’s choice format from 10 AM to 3 PM, playing approximately 36 holes.

Teams collected pledges based on birdies made during the tournament, with supporters able to pledge per birdie or make flat donations.

Tournament Results

The Northern Guildford High School Golf Team won the “Most Birdies” title with 25 birdies. The team was led by coach Dan Harrington, who also recorded a hole-in-one during the event.

Team Mooney & Kuppers (Tim Mooney and Cory Kuppers) earned top fundraising honors, raising $5,695 for PGA HOPE Carolinas.

Holes-in-One

The tournament featured three holes-in-one:

  • Ben Bridgers, PGA (Carolinas PGA Secretary)
  • Dan Harrington (Northern Guildford High School coach)
  • Matt Hausser, PGA

Supporting PGA HOPE

PGA HOPE provides free, adaptive golf instruction and therapeutic programming for military veterans. Every $330 raised funds six weeks of PGA HOPE programming for a veteran.

Since 2015, over 4,700 veterans have participated in PGA HOPE Carolinas programs. The funds from this year’s Birdie Blitz will support veterans across North and South Carolina.
