(Blythewood, SC) – The opening round of the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championship Season is coming to a close, and the Par Tee Golf Center All-Star team, captained by Tom Mason, PGA, punched the last ticket to the next round, besting eleven other All-Star teams at Columbia Country Club in Blythewood, South Carolina on Monday.

What a battle it was between the Par Tee Golf Center All-Star team and the Charleston 1 All-Star team captained by Neil Gowan, PGA, as both teams submitted a very impressive score of 105 (34-35-36).

In the event of a tie, the PGA Jr. League Rules Committee uses the aggregate team total of all four group scores to determine a winner. Due to this ruling, the Par Tee Golf Center All-Star team prevailed, winning by 3 strokes to claim the qualifying position from the event to advance to the PGA Jr. League Section Championship at Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club in Southern Pines, NC on August 12th.

Now that all of the Local Section Qualifiers are in the books, all of the qualifying teams from the opening round of the postseason will join the Par Tee Golf Center team at Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club next week.

We want to send a big thank you to all of the competitors, parents, coaches, and captains that made this wonderful event possible, as well as Chris Sparrow and all of the wonderful staff at Columbia Country Club.
