CHARLOTTE, NC – Kicking off the PGA Junior League postseason, nine (9) 13U teams and four (4) 17U teams descended upon Raintree Country Club on Monday, July 17, 2023, to earn a spot in August’s Section Championship. In the 13U division, the home team, Raintree CC League, shot an 89 (27-30-32) en route to victory. In the 17U division, both Tanglewood League Teams 1 and 2 are moving on with scores of 62 (30-32) and 70 (33-37), respectively.
WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Bermuda Run Country Club hosted the second of four local qualifiers for the PGA Junior League Postseason on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. Eight (8) 13U teams competed for one opportunity to represent their programs in Southern Pines, NC. Winston-Salem League 1 Team 1 coached by Kevin Martin, PGA came out victorious with a score of 96 (29-32-35).
FUQUAY-VARINA, NC – The home teams prevailed in the Raleigh, NC suburb on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Bentwinds Golf and Country Club. 13U Bentwinds CC League Team 1, led by Evelyn Walters, PGA, will be moving on to Southern Pines with a score of 98. From the 17U division, 17U Bentwinds CC League coached by Evelyn Walters, PGA, and Fayetteville League Team 1 coached by Ryan Dailey, PGA, entered a playoff after both scoring a 61. While Bentwinds came out on top in the playoff, both teams will be competing for the Section Championship in August at Longleaf Golf and Family Club.
COLUMBIA, SC – On Monday, July 31, 2023, ten teams competed at Columbia Country Club for the final 13U slot of the PGA Jr. League Section Championship. In the morning, Bluffton League Team 1 coached by Kirk Mitchell, PGA led the pack. Bluffton League Team 1 finished with a total of 93 (30-30-33). In the afternoon, The Creek Golf Club League coached by Chip Ridley, PGA felt the pressure but also finished with a total of 93 (30-30-33). The tiebreaker was determined by the 4th score of each group. Bluffton League Team 1’s fourth score included a 37 and The Creek Golf Club League’s fourth score a 34. The Creek Golf Club League was awarded the final spot at the PGA Jr. League Section Championship at Longleaf Golf & Family Club!
