October 22, 2019 (Monroe, NC) – It was a great day for the inaugural CPGA Women’s Pro-Pro Championship at Rolling Hills Country Club in Monroe, North Carolina. 20 women came out and competed in this team format for the title of the first women’s event in the section in years.
Carolinas PGA Professionals and Associates were joined today by some LPGA T&CP Members as well, encouraging the camaraderie among all professionals striving to grow the game. This two-woman team event was played in a 6/6/6 format; 6 holes of Captain’s Choice, 6 holes of Four-Ball, and 6 holes of Modified Alternate Shot. Winning this year’s championship after shooting 4-under, 68 is Samantha Smith, PGA, General Manager at River Hills G&CC, and Stefany King, LPGA from Classic Swing Golf School. Three teams tied for second place two shots back from the winners at 2-under, 70; Stephanie Kornegay & Tiffany Anselment, Meghan Holbrooks & Danielle Allen, and Gabby Sinkovic & Sally Morgan.
Thank you to our great partners, GGblue, Corkcicle, & Srixon/Cleveland/XXIO for their generous support! From great tee gifts to exciting closest-to-the-hole prizes to an engaging and fun XXIO demo, they helped elevate the day for all the ladies.
Also a huge thank you to Jeff Avant, PGA and his entire team at Rolling Hills CC for their wonderful hospitality and organization for the day. None of this would’ve been possible without their great support.
We look forward to having even more women play in 2020!
