Pinehurst, NC – Twenty-five men and women gathered at Pinehurst No. 9 to attend a PGA HOPE training session on September 23rd. The session was led by PGA Professional and National PGA HOPE Instructor, J.P. Lunn from the Middle Atlantic Section. The training began with an indoor session, which included topics such as the role of a PGA Professional, military culture, adaptive golf and adaptive golf equipment, sensitivity, and more. After a lunch break came an outdoor session where methods were put into practice. These twenty-five individuals are now certified to instruct and help change the lives of our veterans at any of the Carolinas’ twenty-six programs!
PGA HOPE Carolinas (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is an adaptive golf program offered as a rehabilitation tool to improve Veterans’ quality of life by enhancing their mental, social, physical, and emotional well-being. It includes free golf lessons with an emphasis on helping those with physical and emotional disabilities that would most benefit from our initiatives. This life changing program would not be possible without our PGA Members & Associates throughout the Carolinas who dedicate their time to help grow the game amongst our Men & Women Patriots.
The next PGA HOPE training will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at the Country Club of Lexington in Lexington, South Carolina with National PGA HOPE Instructor, Brian Oliver, PGA. Stay tuned for more information on the 2025 PGA HOPE trainings!
