The CPGA offers internship positions titled “CPGA Operations Assistant”. Interns gain experience in PGA Section administration, assisting with tournament operations, foundation activities, marketing, and communications. This opportunity provides valuable experience for a career in golf administration and networking with PGA Professionals. Depending on the year, internships may be 3-month summer positions or may be long term 7-month positions through the spring or fall semester. Sunny Harris Hutchinson PGA WORKS Fellowship

The PGA WORKS Fellowship is one of the flagship programs of PGA REACH, aspiring to be the most valuable entry-level employment opportunity in the golf industry. The Fellowship provides individuals from diverse backgrounds with hands-on experience in all facets of the game, helping shape the next generation of golf industry professionals.

The Sunny Harris Hutchinson PGA WORKS Fellowship will continue in perpetuity within the Carolinas PGA Section, advancing PGA REACH’s mission to ensure the golf industry workforce reflects the rich diversity of modern-day America.

The program welcomes participants from a wide range of demographics—including various genders, races, national origins, ages, abilities, sexual orientations, and veteran statuses—though all are encouraged to apply.

Fellowship Overview

  • Position: Sara “Sunny” Harris Hutchinson PGA WORKS Fellow
  • Location: Browns Summit, N.C. (serving North & South Carolina)
  • Start Date: May 2026 (ideal for May 2026 graduates)
  • Salary: $34,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package, $3,000 completion bonus, and covered travel expenses for events
  • Duration: 15 months
  • Application Deadline: January 12, 2026

This 15-month fellowship is designed for recent college graduates who are passionate about exploring careers in golf and sports management. The program typically begins in May and runs through August of the following year.

The selected Fellow will support a wide range of PGA REACH Carolinas initiatives, including:

  • Event planning, marketing, and recruitment
  • Execution of programs such as Drive, Chip & Putt, PGA Jr. League, and PGA REACH fundraisers
  • Communications and social media efforts to amplify the foundation’s mission and impact across the Carolinas
