Sean Suggs is a dynamic senior executive with more than 30 years of leadership experience in global manufacturing, operations management, and corporate strategy. In June of 2025, Suggs retired from his role as President of Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina, where he spearheaded Toyota’s largest North American investment—a $13.9 billion EV battery facility employing over 5,000 people. Under his leadership, the plant achieved record-setting efficiency, industry-leading safety milestones, and is on track to deliver its first shipments in 2025, securing Toyota’s competitive position in the EV market. Suggs previously held senior leadership roles with both Toyota and Nissan, where he led large-scale operations, sustainability initiatives, and digital transformation projects.
In addition to his corporate achievements, Suggs is deeply engaged in community impact and governance, serving on numerous boards including the National Urban League, North Carolina A&T State University, and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. A U.S. Army veteran, Suggs is also a passionate mentor and advocate for workforce development, education, and diversity initiatives.
