Founding Trustee

Wilmington, NC

Ken Haigler is a graduate of Duke University, where he earned honors, and later received his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law. He is the co-founder of Taft, Taft & Haigler, a personal injury law firm, and has also been involved in real estate development and golf course ownership, having formerly owned semi-private golf courses throughout the Carolinas. Ken has served on the Executive Committee of the Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina and was a former Executive Committee member overseeing athletics at Lees-McRae College. A dedicated leader in his church, he has held multiple church offices over the years.

Ken is married to his wife Janet and has one daughter, Lauren. His passion for PGA REACH was sparked during a flight to Old Town Club with Chris Byrd, where a conversation about the direction of Byrd’s upcoming presidency led to the revitalization of the PGA REACH Carolinas concept. He played a pivotal role in helping shape it into the unique charitable initiative it is today—centered on its three core pillars: supporting Veterans, youth, and underserved communities. Ken believes PGA REACH is a one-of-a-kind program with something meaningful for everyone, helping to grow and improve the game of golf for all.
