Mike was born in Norfolk, Virginia and grew up as an only child. His favorite sport was baseball up until he was 12 years old when he moved to Chesapeake, Virginia. There, he met a friend who hit a lot of golf balls in his backyard and began experimenting with the game. His first job ever came at a facility called Cahoon Plantation in Chesapeake. From there, Mike made his high school golf team and played all four years. He continued to work golf jobs all through high school and while attending college. He attended James Madison University, where he earned a B.A. in Sport Management and an M.S. in Sport & Recreation Leadership and did an internship with the Middle Atlantic PGA which led to his position here with the Carolinas PGA in 2010.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys going on adventures with his family, traveling, pulling for the Pittsburgh Steelers, being a craft beer aficionado, listening to live music, and trying new things.
He has a beautiful wife named Amber, and they have a daughter named Lexi.
