The Senior Scramble has been postponed until 2019. Please read the following note.
We regret to inform all host facilities and any teams that may have registered, that the Senior Scramble pilot program, scheduled to take place beginning September 15th, has been postponed until Spring of 2019.
While the short timeframe for team recruitment and scheduling of advancement events contributes to the postponement decision, the impending hurricane, which will eliminate two of our participating states, convinced us that proceeding this Fall would be improper.
Any registered teams will be immediately refunded. They should see these refunds on their accounts within 5 business days. In addition, these teams will be extended a complimentary registration into the 2019 Senior Scramble. Our thanks go out to our “early adopters”, with a promise that the Senior Scramble will become a reality, for the benefit of our nation’s military veterans, next Spring.
We appreciate your continued support and look forward to getting the Senior Scramble on your calendar for 2019.
The Senior Scramble is a new and exciting National Tournament for amateur golfers ages 50 and older with the goal of relaxing the game. Two-player teams compete in a scramble format at their local course. In place of handicaps, teams are separated into four age-Flights (50s, 60s, 70s, 80+). Clubs will crown a Champion in each flight, qualifying them for advancement to a Section Qualifier. Teams with the top score from the Section Flight Champions will advance to the National Finals in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Inaugural Senior Scramble round was played in May by Charles "Chuck" Schwab and Al Geiberger, former high school golf teammates from 62 years ago!
September 15 - October 15, 2018
October 26 - CC of Whispering Pines - Whispering Pines, NC
The Senior Scramble National Finals will be held during the Schwab Cup Championship, in Phoenix, AZ, a part of the Champions Tour finale on November 7-11, 2018.
