Veterans Day - November 12, 2018

Pinehurst, NC - November 12 - On this year's observed Veterans Day, PGA REACH Carolinas hosted the Inaugural PGA REACH Carolinas HOPE Cup at Pinehurst Resort. PGA HOPE Charleston at Wescott Golf Club took home the winning title and will advance to the national PGA Secretary’s Cup during the week of the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage Black, outside of New York City. Congratulations to Lead PGA Professional, Perry Green, and his team of Bill Burge, Jesse Duff, Fred Gutierrez & Doug Robertson!

It was a day with rain but full of smiles, a lot of fun, honor, and heart-warming impact. Ten (10) of PGA HOPE Carolinas' eleven (11) HOPE Programs participated in this year's inaugural event. Each participating team was composed of one (1) PGA HOPE Lead PGA Professional and four (4) PGA HOPE Veterans that have graduated through one of our PGA HOPE programs here in the Carolinas. The teams competed in a 9-hole, 5-man scramble format on the back nine of Pinehurst No. 1.

We extend a huge thank you to Ben Bridgers and his staff at Pinehurst Resort for their tremendous hospitality! This event was definitely a success, thanks to their support. We are excited to see continued impact from the PGA HOPE programs across the Carolinas, thanks to the generous efforts from our PGA Professionals.
