Greensboro, NC (June 1, 2017) – The Carolinas PGA is gearing up for one of its most anticipated events of the season – The SignArt North Carolina Open Presented by Mobipaid. On June 5 - 8, 150+ amateurs and PGA Professionals will gather at The Club at Irish Creek in Kannapolis, North Carolina for a shot at one of the region’s most prestigious golf tournaments and a unique chance to support The Hendrick Family Foundation – the charitable arm of Hendrick Motorsports and the Hendrick Auto Group. The Foundation helps to fight hunger by supporting the local food bank and works with the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System to identify schools where high risk children are in need of clothing. The Foundation also supports the Be The Match and its bone marrow donor program.
The Carolinas PGA’s 53rd SignArt North Carolina Open offers a unique fundraising opportunity for the Foundation with help from presenting partner, Mobipaid, who supports payments and donations through text messaging and social media. During the event, tournament participants, guests and other attendees will have the opportunity to show their support for the Hendrick Family Foundation with fundraising opportunities. The event kicks off Monday, June 5 with the event’s annual Pro-Am, during which players can purchase a donation package complete with one mulligan (to use on the hole of their choosing) and one raffle ticket entry for a chance to win the grand prize - two tickets to the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow in August. Players will also be able to participate in a closest to the pin contest on one of the course’s par-3 holes that same day.
“The Carolinas PGA Section is an important partner for Mobipaid,” says Chris Roets, Founder and CEO of Mobipaid. “Our technology uses the power of social media for fundraising and captures a previously untapped audience, growing the opportunity to raise funds. We look forward to offering value to the Carolinas PGA, the charities they support and to golfers aspiring to advance their golf career.”
The donation opportunities will continue throughout the week with chances for players to support the Foundation using Mobipaid. With numerous fundraising opportunities available on-site at the tournament, coupled with other exciting chances to donate on social media, the Section hopes to raise upwards of $5,000 for the Hendrick Family Foundation to help the Foundation combat childhood hunger in the Charlotte Metro area, provide clothing for needy children and support local hospitals to provide care for children.
An official announcement and check presentation will be made at the conclusion of the tournament on Thursday, June 8 during the award ceremony. The North Carolina Open is an official CPGA Bob Boyd Player of the Year (Presented by OMEGA) points event, as well as a Johnny Palmer Trophy (Presented by True Temper) points event.
