The format was two rounds of one gross, one net (handicap) scoring where amateurs received 75% of their course handicap.

After an opening round of 66-63=129 (-15), Blackburn and company sat five strokes out of the lead.  A second solid score of 65-64=129 (-15) gave them a two-day total of 258 (-30) and a three-stroke victory over the team of PGA Life Member Jim Miller of Advance, NC and amateurs Curtis Capps, Ike Slaughter, and Greg Sharpe who finished at 131-132=263 (-12).

In the PGA Professional individual competition, Jim Miller, at 70 years of age, beat the nearest competition by three strokes with rounds of 75-69=144 (E).

National Car Rental sponsored a "Blackjack Chipping Contest" for the entire field where those who chipped for 21 points into a grid of squares representing all the cards of a playing deck.  A pool of $500 was up for grabs.  24 competitors earned “blackjack” and collected $20.83 each.

Congratulations go to David Lamb, PGA, and amateur Greg Sharpe who both recorded impressive holes-in-one during the first round!

Thanks to the support of National Car Rental, Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort, Club Car, and CEP Compression Sportswear, competitors were able to enjoy two days of golf, dining, and gambling.

We were also happy to have Grannie's Kitchen, a local restaurant, serve food to the competitors twice on the golf course during both rounds.
