Evelyn Walters Secures Women’s Championship Title

(Southern Pines, NC) - After a well-favored sunny day of play, the final round of the Inaugural CPGA Women’s Championship concluded with Bentwinds Golf and Country Club Professional Evelyn Walters, PGA taking the trophy after two playoff holes. 

Walters went into the round tied for first and kept up her success throughout play. Walters was accompanied by Briana Niemann, PGA of Kiawah Island Club - Cassique and Kennedy Ramsey of River Run Country Club finishing the tournament at +11. Ramsey finished the day with an impressive two birdies and an eagle to climb from 4th place to T1. Walters, Niemann, and Ramsey competed in two playoff holes where Walters finished with par on the Par 4 No. 17 hole to take the crown. 

Behind the leaders stood Mary Thomas, PGA of Bermuda Run Country Club and Abby Byrd, PGA of Bald Head Island Club who finished at +15 at T4.
