Chapters of the Carolinas PGA Section

The Hilton Head Island Chapter was formed in 1979 as the Hilton Head Island Golf Professional’s Association (HHIGPA) by a group of local golf professionals, namely Skip Malek, Tim Moss, Cary Corbitt and a few others for the sole purpose of providing playing opportunities, an education program, and a junior golf program for the community.  At the time of incorporation, we were not recognized as a Chapter by the Carolinas PGA due to size. The HHIGPA officially became the Hilton Head Island Chapter of the Carolinas PGA in the fall of 2001.

The Mountains Chapter was established with the purpose to provide PGA Professionals living in Western North Carolina an opportunity to participate in an active tournament, meeting and education schedule that compliments the Section schedule. The Mountains Chapter of the PGA consists of approximately 75-100 members each year. Any member of the Carolinas Section can become a member of the Mountains Chapter.
