CPGA Professional Sees Hole in One!

Congratulations to Lee Stroever on his hole in one this week at the Hilton Head Island PGA Chapter Pro-Pro at Port Royal in Hilton Head Island, SC. His epic shot came on hole #6 during the event. He is pictured here (right) with his playing partner Mike Perkins. The duo also claimed the first place spot for the tournament. Give it up for these all stars. Go team! 

 

 

 

 

Area II Global Golf Sales Area Challenge Champions

Lee Duncan and Rohan Allwood  captured the Area Challenge Title with an outstanding 26 point total – highlighted by Rohan’s ace on the Par 3 fourth hole. Allwood and Duncan will advance with their Area Director (Tom Mason) to the Carolinas PGA Area Challenge Section Championship on Monday, October 10th, at the Greensboro CC – Farm Course.  Allwood and Duncan also each earn a spot in the new Global Golf Sales Par -3 Cup, a $1,000 per hole skins game on Monday, Nov 28 before the CPGA Pro-Pro Championship at Pinewild Country Club’s par-3 “Azalea” Course featuring 72 PGA Professionals. A special thank you to Area II Director Tom Mason, PGA for administering the meeting and to General Manager Clem King and his staff for hosting the event. Mason was also re-elected to serve an additional two year term as Area II Director.

Chris Sitko and Parker Reeves captured the Area I Challenge Title after a playoff with the teams of Brent Jessup & Garret Chapman and Matt Pavia & Allen Chandler. Sitko and Reeves will advance with their Area Director (Brett Miller) to the Carolinas PGA Area Challenge Section Championship on Monday, October 10th, at the Greensboro CC – Farm Course.  Sitko and Reeves also each earn a spot in the new Global Golf Sales Par -3 Cup, a $1,000 per hole skins game on Monday, Nov 28 before the CPGA Pro-Pro Championship at Pinewild Country Club’s par-3 “Azalea” Course featuring 72 PGA Professionals. A special thank you to Area I Director Brett Miller, PGA for administering the meeting and to Brian and Jessie Stewart and their staff at Bright’s Creek for hosting the event.

We're excited to share this fun fact! The Carolinas PGA office at Myrtle Beach opened 40 years ago today on May 10, 1976. Check out this plaque at our current headquarters in Greensboro, NC. Time sure does fly! 
 

 

Global Golf Sales Area VI Challenge Champions

It was a beautiful day at Fort Mill Golf Club for the 2016 Carolinas PGA Global Golf Sales Area VI Meeting and Golf Challenge Presented by Bionic Glove & the PGA Tour.  Area members gathered for an election, education, fellowship and golf.  Head PGA Professional Jason Toryk from Carmel CC edged out Tom Reneau from Accelerated Golf Academy in the Area VI Director Election.  The course was in great condition as Tim Straub and Blair Smith captured the Area Challenge Title. Straub and Smith will advance with their Area Director (Marc Lapointe) to the Carolinas PGA Area Challenge Section Championship on Monday, October 10th, at the Greensboro CC – Farm Course.  Straub and Smith also each earn a spot in the new Global Golf Sales Par -3 Cup, a $1,000 per hole skins game on Monday, Nov 28 before the CPGA Pro-Pro Championship at Pinewild Country Club’s par-3 “Azalea” Course featuring 72 PGA Professionals. A special thank you to Area VI Director Marc Lapointe, PGA for administering the meeting and to the Fort Mill GC staff for hosting the event.

CBS Sports—in celebration of the PGA of America’s Centennial and its #ThxPGAPro campaign—presents “Golf’s Best Stories End in Thanks,” an hour-long special, narrated by Bill Macatee, which introduces viewers to PGA Professionals nationwide and the profound impact they have made in their students’ lives. The special aired Saturday May 7 and can be viewed here. As part of this special, we’re pleased to share that one of our very own PGA Professionals and Area Directors, Tom Mason and his junior league golfer, Jalen Castle (pictured with Stacy Lewis, LPGA), are included in this feature. Tom Mason, PGA Head Professional and Owner of Par Tee Golf Center is currently the coach for the South Carolina PGA Junior League Golf Team in Columbia, SC and Jalen, one of his most inspiring players. 

 

CPGA Professional gets Morning Drive ‘Game Ball’

Carolinas PGA professional Jason Gentel, PGA Head Professional of Winding Creek Golf Course in Thomasville, NC, was awarded a Morning Drive ‘Game Ball’ today for contributing to Clubs for Kids. Clubs for Kids takes old clubs regrips them and cuts them down to give to kids along with a lesson from a PGA Professional. Way to go, Jason! Check out the video here.

 

 

Global Golf Sales Area IV Golf Challenge Champions


 

It was a beautiful day at Roaring Gap Club for the 2016 Carolinas PGA Global Golf Sales Area IV Meeting and Golf Challenge Presented by Bionic Glove & the PGA Tour.  Area members gathered for an election, education, fellowship and golf.  Master Professional Bill Hall from Starmount Forest CC edged out Head Professional Sean Branagan from Maple Chase Golf & CC in the Area IV Director Election.  The course was in immaculate condition as Sean Branagan and Brad Luebchow captured the Area Challenge Title. Sean & Brad will advance with their Area Director (Rocky Brooks) to the Carolinas PGA Area Challenge Section Championship on Monday, October 10th, at the Greensboro CC – Farm Course.  Branagan and Luebchow also each earn a spot in the new Global Golf Sales Par -3 Cup, a $1,000 per hole skins game on Monday, Nov 28 before the CPGA Pro-Pro Championship at Pinewild Country Club’s par-3 “Azalea” Course featuring 72 PGA Professionals.
